Affiliate Disclosure

WearAI Hub is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission. This page explains exactly how that works, how much we earn, and why it doesn't (and won't) affect our editorial recommendations.

We are required by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to disclose our affiliate relationships clearly and conspicuously. We are also required by Amazon's Associates Program Operating Agreement to display this disclosure on every page that contains affiliate links. This page satisfies both requirements. If anything here is unclear, please contact us and we'll clarify.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a performance-based model where a website (us) earns a commission by linking to a retailer (Amazon). When you click an affiliate link on our site and make a purchase on Amazon within 24 hours, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the purchase price. The commission is paid by Amazon out of its margin — you do not pay more, and the product's price is identical whether you use our link or go directly to Amazon.

This model lets us run the site without a paywall, without bombarding you with pop-ups, and without selling your data. It also means we have a direct financial incentive to recommend products you'll actually be happy with — because if you return a product, we lose the commission.

How Much We Earn

Amazon's commission rates vary by product category and change periodically. As of mid-2026, the rates that apply to the products we cover are roughly:

Product CategoryTypical Commission Rate
Smart rings (categorized as "Wearable Technology")4%
Smart glasses (categorized as "Electronics")3–4%
AI pins & companion devices3–4%
OTC hearing aids (Health & Personal Care)1–4%
VR/MR headsets3%
Accessories (cases, lenses, etc.)4–8%

On a $349 Oura Ring 4, we earn approximately $13.96. On a $199 Rabbit R1, we earn approximately $7.96. On a $999 Lexie B2 Plus hearing aid, we earn approximately $20–40. These commissions add up — they're how we pay for the products we test, the hosting, and the time it takes to write 3,000-word reviews.

The 24-Hour Cookie Window

Amazon's affiliate cookie lasts 24 hours. If you click our link to a product, then buy that product (or anything else on Amazon) within 24 hours, we earn a commission on the entire cart. If you click our link and don't buy, we earn nothing. If you click our link, leave, come back two days later via a different route, and buy — we earn nothing.

Important: if you click our affiliate link, then put items in your cart but don't check out within 24 hours, the cookie still expires. Always complete checkout within 24 hours of clicking if you want us to get the commission. There's no penalty to you either way — the price is the same.

Display Advertising

In addition to affiliate links, we serve display advertising through Google AdSense. These are the banner ads and in-content ads you see throughout the site. Google pays us based on impressions and clicks, with rates varying by ad placement, ad size, and your geographic location.

We currently use Google AdSense because we don't yet meet Mediavine's 50,000 monthly session threshold. Once we do, we'll migrate to Mediavine, which offers higher RPMs and stricter quality controls. We will never run pop-unders, interstitials that block content, autoplay video ads, or any ad format that materially degrades your reading experience.

You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google at any time via Google Ads Settings. You'll still see ads — they just won't be tailored to your interests.

Our Editorial Independence Pledge

This is the most important section on this page. Here's what we promise:

Our Pledge
  1. We never accept payment in exchange for a positive review or a higher rating.
  2. We do not allow manufacturers to review our content before publication.
  3. We do not accept sponsored posts, native advertising, or paid placement in our buyer's guides.
  4. Our affiliate commission rate is identical regardless of which product we recommend within a category. Amazon doesn't pay us more to recommend Product A over Product B.
  5. If a product is bad, we say so — even if it has an affiliate link and even if we'd earn a commission from your click.
  6. If a product is excellent but not available on Amazon, we recommend it anyway and link to the manufacturer's site. We earn nothing from these recommendations.

Products Not on Amazon

Not every AI wearable is sold on Amazon. The Apple Vision Pro is sold only through Apple's online and retail stores. The Humane Ai Pin was discontinued in early 2025 and is no longer available for purchase. The Limitless Pendant is sold only manufacturer-direct.

For these products, we link to the manufacturer's official site. These links are not affiliate links — we earn no commission from them. We include them because we believe in recommending the right product for your needs, not the product that pays us the most. Every non-affiliate link on the site is clearly marked with a tooltip that reads "Manufacturer direct — not an affiliate link."

FTC Compliance

The FTC requires affiliate disclosures to be "clear and conspicuous" and placed near affiliate links. We satisfy this requirement in three ways:

  • Every page that contains affiliate links has a disclosure banner at the top of the article content.
  • Every product card with an affiliate link includes the disclosure text near the link.
  • This dedicated disclosure page is linked in the site footer and accessible from every page.

The FTC's full guidance on affiliate disclosures is available at the FTC website.

Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement

As a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, we are bound by its Operating Agreement. Among other things, this agreement requires us to:

  • Display the Amazon Associates disclosure on every page with affiliate links.
  • Not use Amazon's trademarks or product images in ways that imply endorsement of our site.
  • Not represent prices as current beyond a short window (Amazon prices change frequently — always verify the price on Amazon before purchase).
  • Not include affiliate links in emails (which is why we don't run a newsletter).
